We had a great time of fellowship and escaping the "rat race" at your wonderful cabin. Thanks to Joyce & Jimmy, we had a refreshing retreat at the river! It rained and rained which is crazy for the month of August in Arkansas, but that made it exciting as we watched the river rise & recede. We saw lots of trees float down the river - new habitat for some critters elsewhere. The humming birds were our best entertainment as we listened to the pitter-patter of the raindrops on the deck roof. Food seems to have enhanced flavor out in nature - Yummy Joyce's breakfast.
Downtown Mountain View was a treat. We enjoyed the shops and flea markets. They caused childhood memories to come flooding back to mind. The Wing Shack and Skillet Restaurant were favorites. Be sure to go to Yoder's Amish Market and the Ice Cream Shop - get peach!
The highlight for me was the Blue Grass music in the park. There are some extremely talented people here. I love the way folks encourage the young musicians and allow the old folks to shake a leg. That kind of community is rare these days.
